Applications for Universal Credit are often triggered by something changing in people’s lives. Reasons for making a claim for the benefit can include: a relationship breakdown; losing a job, becoming unwell or disabled, having a child or moving house. This means that applying for the benefit is often happening at the same time as people are having to cope with (often difficult) changes in their lives.

Mis-information

“The girl said to me it’s a learning curve for all of us. We’re learning the same as you. And that shouldn’t be the case. ”

It can be really hard to get the right information about Universal Credit, and your entitlement. The process of claiming can be confusing and hard to understand.
